PRODUCTS Blast Cleaning Abrasives
Ebonygrit Copperslag A High Density Blasting Slag Ebonygrit is produced from a by-product of the manufacturing of copper, which is processed into an abrasive by Opta Minerals.
Typically it is composed of ferrosilicate (Fayalite, Fe2SiO4) material and oxides, formed when the molten slag is quenched in cold water. This cooling process fractures the slag into coarse and angular particles, making it an ideal blasting slag with optimal blasting properties.
Blackblast - Coal Slag

Blackblast, a coal slag, is an aluminum silicate blast cleaning abrasive, made from coal slag from coal fired power plants.

Econoblast

ECONOBLAST is manufactured from a by-product in the production of aluminum. During the melting process, this material converts into a glass-type product which is considered as cullet.
ECONOBLAST is an economical, safe and ”silica free” abrasive with similar blasting efficiencies of both Blackblast (coal slag) and Silica Sand.
ECONOBLAST is proven to be the most cost effective blasting abrasive for
refurbishing auto bodies.
In a NIOSH test of 40 abrasives, Econoblast came out as #1 safest blasting abrasive to replace Silica Sand

Glass Beads Glass Bead blasting can be used on a wide range of materials including metal, glass, plastic and rubber. The smaller the glass spheres, the smoother the surface; larger spheres produce a more textured finish.
Greenblast Greenblast is crushed glass grit made from 100% recycled glass. It is collected from your curb-side recycle box, crushed, cleaned, sized and packaged to provide the ideal blast media for many applications. Its angular shape allows to cut through rust, paint and oil, and is lightweight enough not to damage the work surface. Greenblast is also non metallic, preventing contamination to surfaces. Finally, even though crushed glass is made of sand, the silica in crushed glass is chemically inert, making it a silica-free abrasive.
Plastic Media Cleaning with Plastic Media is a fast, Environmentally acceptable and cost effective alternative to traditional chemical and hand stripping. Unlike chemical strippers, plastic media is biodegradable, non-toxic and non-polluting and the process is now accepted as the optimum method of surface preparation for a wide variety of materials and components.
Plastic Media is produced from rejected and recycled mouldings. The mouldings are crushed, ground and graded in carefully controlled conditions to produce a blast media which is ideal for cleaning or stripping away paint, dirt and grease, without damaging the substrate.
Chilled Iron Grit

Chilled Iron Grit is produced from carefully selected alloy free iron scrap that is re-carbonized in a hot blast furnace. The shot obtained by this process is then crushed into grit.
Chilled Iron Grit is a white iron structure which shatters on impact rather than wearing round. Being harder than steel it has a quicker cleaning action.
Chilled Iron Grit is used in compressed-air blasting equipment in both blast rooms with abrasive reclaim systems and in portable pressure blast equipment.

Super Steel Shot & Grit Steel Abrasives are used to clean a wide variety of surfaces and parts, for example
• De-sanding and cleaning Foundry castings
• Descaling metal sheet, billets and profiles produced by the steel industry
• Surface preparation prior to coating

Walnut Shells WALNUT SHELL abrasive is a hard and fibrous product made from crushed Walnut Shell in accordance with International Trade Standard and is the most common soft type abrasive. It has excellent durability and is now widely used to blast clean and polish soft metals, glass, fiberglass, wood, plastic and stone.
It works as a de-burring and de-flashing product for molding, casting and electrical parts.
Aluminum Oxide Brown aluminum oxide is fused in an electric arc furnace by high temperature. Its main raw materials are bauxite, anthracite. It’s chemical composition contains far over 90% Al2O3. Fused aluminum oxide abrasive grains are made for maximum toughness and hardness to provide superior performance in blasting applications from cleaning and deburring to etching and finishing.
